How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The room was freezing in the mornings and evenings; when we asked for heat the first night it was turned on, but on the following nights we asked twice and nothing changed. The food we got wasn’t what we ordered – we asked for one well‑cooked sausage with a small portion of scrambled egg (made with one egg), but we received two undercooked sausages and a large, watery portion of scrambled egg.

I had already heard the pub was known for its food, so I booked to catch day 2 of the Ffestiniog Railway Victorian Weekend gala, and the room was spacious and the breakfast was solid, with staff who were very friendly, but I had to request heating and they only turned it on for an hour.

We loved the view across the valley, but the cottage was very cramped and parking was hard to find. The waitress who left us locked out in the pouring rain was abusive when she finally let us in.
