The lady who greeted us and worked behind the bar was fantastic, really friendly and welcoming; the food was fantastic and the bar lovely, and the location made it easy to reach the airport early the next morning. Unfortunately, the room really let the stay down: it wasn’t particularly clean, needed basic maintenance, had broken lampshades, poor‑condition blinds, and visible stains on the carpet and bed throw, and the bathroom had a strong, unpleasant drain smell. It’s a real shame, as the rest of the pub and the staff were lovely; the room’s condition took away from what could otherwise have been an enjoyable stay.

The staff were friendly, the breakfast beautiful, the bath in the room luxurious, the river views gorgeous, and the location was perfect for visiting family a short distance away. A little dust was present in some places, and picture frames were only noticed when the window was open with a breeze and the sun shining through.

Dinner was lovely, though a wedding in one area was quite loud, and another pub along the road added noise at closing time. The bed was comfortable and the room was fine, just a little quirky with a slightly sloping floor. The location was quite noisy.
