“Algo sencillo pero agradable”
The location and price are excellent. Everything else was fine.

The city itself! The check‑in process was completely inept and complicated, with no way to get information beforehand. We exchanged many messages and received incorrect details (the reception was supposedly open from 8 am to 3:30 pm, which was false). I arrived at noon and there was no reception. A cleaning lady from a neighbouring building told me someone would be there at 2 pm. I parked in front of the hotel entrance at 2:45 pm and received a 60‑euro fine because I was told not to park there! I was relieved to learn that. Then there was no Wi‑Fi; after 13 WhatsApp messages, I was told to look for the code behind the router, behind the front door, on a coffee table lower down. I sent 15 WhatsApp replies, and the lady explained that my equipment was outdated, that I didn’t understand, and basically blamed me for everything. This was unacceptable, plus the room was noisy.

El hostal, con acceso un poco complicado, no se ve bien que has llegado al sitio ya que no hay nada para ver. La habitación para una persona es genial, pero para dos es demasiado chico y sin sitio para poner tus maletas. Es un poco agobiante

The location was great, right next to Puerta del Sol, close to Puerta Bisagra, and just a 10‑minute walk to the Alcazar or Plaza Zocodover; a 15‑minute walk to Puente Alcantara. The street is quiet with almost no traffic. The “Hostal Sol” is brand new (or renovated); I saw comments about the building’s old condition, but I can’t understand them—maybe they refer to the hotel Sol, which is a different place. The building uses a PIN code at the entrance and even a PIN for the room, which worked fine. The room was cleaned daily, the air‑conditioning was silent and effective. In my room there was a plumbing odor. Some reviews mention difficult access, but I didn’t feel that way—the street is wide enough and you can easily reach it from the Azarquiel roundabout. There are always spots in front of Hostal Sol to unload luggage and settle in; afterward you can turn (the street closes after Hostal Sol), U‑turn and park outside the old center: the Rosa or Azarquiel parking is free. Breakfast was described by others as “very simple”; I found it decent for the price—4 EUR, so it can’t include Beluga caviar… otherwise, there are plenty of cafés around.
