The kitchen was great because it had a gas stove and all the cookware I needed, so cooking for myself was a breeze. The only downside was that the air conditioning on the second floor was too strong and made the room feel cold.

I got to experience a single‑house stay. The only issue was a bit of traffic noise coming from near the intersection.

My family of two adults and one elementary‑school child stayed at the property. The exterior looked “Showa” style, but the interior had been fully renovated and was very comfortable. The kitchen, shower, washing machine, and all cleaning supplies were complete, so I didn’t feel any inconvenience. All electrical appliances and furnishings were brand new or like new. The toilet had a washlet, the kitchen had an oven toaster, microwave, kettle, rice cooker, and even a coffee press. There were enough dishes and cups for a decent amount of meals. The shower was a unit type with no bathtub, but shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a towel were provided. The second floor was the bedroom, and the mattress was comfortable with clean futon; when I lay down, the futon smelled like freshly hung sun‑dried fabric, which made for a good sleep. Wi‑Fi was available. The TV was internet‑connected, so I could watch YouTube, ABEMA, Netflix, and other channels beyond terrestrial TV. A 24‑hour convenience store was nearby, and a supermarket was a short walk away, so the location was very convenient. There was no dryer, but a coin‑laundry was within walking distance, which I used. I had no particular complaints. The bathtub was there, and the toilet could have been a bit larger, but that was a space issue. On the day I visited, it happened to be a cold day in the mountains with a light snow, so I really wanted to take a hot bath.

Because I was planning to visit during the New Year holidays, I asked about local shopping options beforehand, and the owner was very helpful and courteous, so I felt at ease even with my kids. The owner’s friendly nature was evident from the start, giving me confidence. A few minutes’ walk from the property there is a shopping street and a supermarket, so I had no trouble getting food or supplies, and the location was truly convenient. I could comfortably stay at the guest house even without a room. The building feels a bit old, and the stairs are a little steep, as other guests have mentioned. If you’re traveling with a small child or have a lot of luggage, it’s best to keep that in mind before you go.
