Lungern is absolutely gorgeous, very quiet, and the locals are incredibly welcoming and warm. The spot right by the train station is ideal. I especially appreciated the outstanding and very friendly service from the ladies in the breakfast room, which is thoughtfully designed. The breakfast was delicious, with a wide selection; the Birchermüesli and the cappuccino were excellent. I always felt warmly welcomed. There are fantastic day‑trip options, whether exploring the area around Lungern, visiting Sachseln, Sarnen, and Lucerne, or taking the train to Brienz and Interlaken, where a boat ride lets you experience the picturesque Swiss landscape and indulge all your senses. I combined my vacation with a Malretreat in Sarnen and was lucky to have warm, summer‑like weather in October. The only issue was that the hotel’s information only arrived after I had to ask twice. The bed was made only once during the six nights, but it was freshly made. Everything else was top.
