The spot on Makerere University’s expansive, relatively quiet campus is solid, and the staff are warm and welcoming while the premises stay tidy. I read that the manager had pledged to fix the showers—no more hanging wires—but that promise fell flat, as my shower never worked; Wi‑Fi only came alive in the dining area and was still weak.

Everything was simple, clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and supportive. Power cuts happened without any heads‑up; it was understandable but I would have liked a prior notice.

Seeing naked wires over metal pipes in the bathroom was unacceptable and almost electrocuted me; the towels were old and worn, the bath tab was outdated, and the room lighting was poor—no light reached the table’s position. In Room 3, I had to move the table to work in the evening. On the plus side, staying on campus kept me away from Kampala traffic.
