The room was clean and you could keep the air circulating while inside. The only thing you have to do is climb a mountain to reach the hostel, and the street you have to climb is scary because a slip could send you tumbling for meters; that’s not the hostel’s fault, but the loose stairs you have to climb to get to the room are the hostel’s fault, and the common area is useless—there’s no electric kettle for hot water, and the staff is virtually nonexistent; I only saw them when I arrived and when I left, after waiting more than an hour and a half. When I had a problem, the staff basically washed their hands and told me they couldn’t help (which was true, but they didn’t try to find a solution). The internet was also a disaster—during my entire stay I couldn’t connect, and I couldn’t find any staff or other guest who could connect. In short, it’s a cheap hostel, but for the price you could find something closer to the beach. The pool seems like a big plus, but unless you stay a week you won’t see it. Oh, and before I forget, the mattresses are the hardest and most worn I’ve ever tried on any trip, and the sheets and pillowcases are full of those itchy little balls that scratch your skin. It’s a detail I know, but just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it has to be so shoddy.
