“I’d recommend this place.”
The room was unique, the pub on the first floor was lively and fun, and the staff were super nice. It’s a bit far from London, there was no hand soap in the dispenser, and the reading lamp’s lightbulb had burned out.
“Convenient but more shabby than it needs to be”
I knew there was no breakfast when I booked, so that’s not a problem, but it would be nice to have something. The location is convenient for catching the bus to Tate, and the bathroom and shower are clean and spacious. However, the corridor light stayed on all night and leaked under the door, the velux blind wouldn’t stay shut, and there were no side lights by the bed. The paint on the doors is already peeling, the carpet on the stairs is badly stained and shabby, and the banisters need a thorough clean.
“Good location, helpful staff and comfy nights sleep”
The place sits in a great spot, just a few minutes’ walk from Wimbledon Park. The pub offered a 30% discount on food for guests, though I didn’t eat there; the food looked appealing. The bed was massive and comfortable. The room was well‑used, with a few carpet stains and some broken items, but it didn’t really ruin the experience.
“Prima budget verblijf.”
The staff were friendly and the service was good; they were always reachable. The hygiene was a bit disappointing – it wasn’t very dirty, but it was just a little dusty everywhere.
I personally felt comfortable. The building sits above a pub where the food is good (the warm brownie is phenomenal) and you get a 30% discount. The reception and pub staff are nice and very kind. The room is spacious, the bathroom is fairly large, there’s an adapter socket in the room (no USB outlets for charging), and the metro stop is just a few minutes away. The Wi‑Fi is good and the value for money is solid. The location is a bit out of the way and because it’s on a branch of the district, the trains are a little less frequent. The bathroom basket was very small, and a basket in the room would be handy, especially since the shower has one of those large nozzles; having a hair cuff in addition to the toiletries could be useful if you don’t bring one from home.
