The location was nice and the restaurant staff were friendly. However, the hotel tried to overcharge us: we were asked to pay on booking, not 2 or 3 days before, and they charged an extra £60 for dinner expenses before checkout. They also took two chargers that I had left in the room, claiming they hadn't been handed in.

It’s conveniently positioned near Rutland Water and the surrounding countryside, and the room was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was no hot water for a bath or a heated towel rail, and the phone didn’t work, so we had to switch rooms. The décor felt a bit tired and didn’t quite match a country‑house hotel vibe.

Breakfast ok . Location ok . First room clean but very dark, bed terrible. Asked for a change of room. Second room and bed much better
