The staff response was very good. However, the faucet handle in the washbasin was broken, and the toilet door was poorly fitted and got stuck.

The onsen, both inside and out, was gorgeous, and the room was clean, spacious, and had an en‑suite. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly. It would have been better if the onsen had been open from 9‑10 am.

Everyone on the staff was very attentive. I would have preferred a regular chair in the room instead of a folding seat.

My family visiting from the US stayed in the hotel 5 nights in July, and enjoyed the tatami room, futons, and onsen, which they said were great with their 2 kids 5 and 3. Weather was scorching but the hotel was comfortable. Access was great, I drove over to pick them up in the morning and drop off in evening - nice location overlooking the valley, an old classic onsen hotel now getting a fixer-upper. I had assumed at this price there would be the standard ryokan style buffet breakfast and dinner. So surprised to hear they were not included, causing inconvenience in getting any kind of food, requiring a drive to convenience stores or restaurants
