Indeed, it’s right in front of the airport. The hotel is super clean, the breakfast is delicious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. I had a somewhat negative experience with a front‑desk lady who, instead of fixing a problem, made it worse—she literally made me fetch bathroom supplies myself after a somewhat indifferent response.

The location is excellent, and the hotel’s backup generator works perfectly, which is handy because power outages are common in San José. The reception staff were very rude; they wouldn’t give me the room I had booked through the app and only offered me a financial compensation or to find another hotel. They claimed they were busy with fairs and parties, so people were looking for accommodation and paying what they could; since my reservation was made in advance, I didn’t let them tamper with it. It was a tough fight, but I made them respect my reservation versus what I paid. The hotel is pretty, but in this very humid city the rooms have mold on the ceiling, cracked walls, and a cleanliness rating of 2 out of 10. Still, there isn’t a better option; it’s either that hotel or you’re stuck on the promenade.
