The accommodation is beautifully arranged. The spacious room has a wardrobe, a large glazed wall, and is well sealed. The huge balcony is perfect for relaxing. The owner is very helpful with excellent English, always ready to assist. There was a lizard on the premises. The entrance gate to the property deserves a renovation; it needs to be widened and a better staircase added.

“Au calme et super accueil”

Very good welcome from Sumi, pleasant conversations with him and his daughters ;), very interesting. Lots of thoughtfulness and good advice, taking great care of us. A hearty breakfast. The apartment is quiet, with a large bay window to watch squirrels, birds and lizards… we had an excellent stay. Easy to reach everything in 5/10 minutes by Tuk Tuk. Nothing.

If you want to feel pampered, this is the place for you! Host Sumi is incredibly kind and helpful, and every morning he shows up to prepare a hearty breakfast with eggs, mango, watermelon, pineapple, and banana. The two lovely rooms are built in the jungle just a few steps from Unawatuna station. There’s a quiet area surrounded by greenery with monkeys moving through the vegetation, and several points of interest are easily reachable by bus, beach, or temple, including the Galle fort.

We stayed on the first floor of this wonderful villa for almost two weeks. It sits in a quiet spot a few minutes’ walk from the main street, almost a dead end. The relatively large Food City store is a 10‑minute walk away, the alcohol market takes 10‑15 minutes on foot, and the Devatha beach is a 15‑minute walk where you can surf if you wish. The villa owner, Sumi, prepares breakfast at a time convenient for you. Sumi lives next door with his family and is always ready to help with any questions. He’s very engaging and knowledgeable; we talked about everything from local customs to sports and aircraft investigations. He can also advise you on island locations and inexpensive ways to get there. The first‑floor room has all the essentials: a comfortable bed, working air‑conditioning, a fan, and a kettle. In the adjacent building you can grab utensils, a knife, and there’s a washing machine for laundry. The main feature of the room is a huge wall‑to‑wall window. Every morning we drank coffee while watching the National Geographic channel outside. Throughout our stay we saw many squirrels, birds, and often lizards; monkeys were common on nearby palms. I’ve never seen so many animals in one place. I would gladly return. Sumi, wish you all the best.

“Прекрасная просторная вилла среди цветов и пения птиц”

The villa is delightful in the heart of the jungle, or tropical garden—whatever you prefer! We checked several options from Mirissa to Galle, but this villa impressed us from the first glance. It’s a short 4‑minute walk off the main road, surrounded by flowers, palms, and fruit trees—silence, peace, and birdsong. Everything matches the photos, if not better. The villa is truly spacious: two large independent rooms on different floors, which can be rented separately or together. We rented the whole place. On the first floor there’s a cozy living room and a bedroom, bathroom, and walk‑in closet. It has air‑conditioning, two fans, full hot water (rare for local apartments), a big comfortable bed, kettle, soft furnishings, a coffee table, a fridge—everything you need. The highlight is the floor‑to‑ceiling glazing overlooking the garden—magical! And there’s a lot of space. The second room on the upper floor is a standard one‑bedroom but still very roomy (room 25‑30 m², plus shower and balcony). It has cabinets, bedside tables, a fridge, kettle, wicker furniture, a table, and a large balcony. A separate house contains the kitchen (gas stove, fridge, washing machine, cookware…) and a terrace with a big table and wicker set, where you can sit calmly in the evening with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. The whole villa breathes coziness and hospitality. Everything is arranged for guest comfort. The host cooks breakfast whenever you’re ready. He cares about your well‑being. His family lives in a separate house across the road, so you stay independently on the villa but can be sure the host will come to help quickly. Sumi is very sweet, communicative, and incredibly knowledgeable about politics, sports, culture, and he speaks English fluently.
