“Exceptional, authentic experience”
We had an incredible stay at Andrea and Valeria’s B&B this week. The B&B itself sits in a gorgeous remote spot up the mountain, a bit further up from Stresa but never claims to be right by the town, which adds to the charm and experience. It’s full of thoughtful touches, with beautiful vintage furniture and character that make it feel like you’re really staying in an Italian family home. Andrea and Valeria were more helpful, kind, and thoughtful from the start, not only welcoming us into the home on arrival but also doing everything they could to make our stay feel as homely as possible. They prepared homemade baked goods for the mornings, and we ate them in the lovely garden with their dog Olivia while getting day‑to‑day recommendations from the hosts. With a car, you can explore the beautiful surroundings, including mountain hikes, biking, markets, and more. If you want to go to Stresa, it’s about a 30‑minute walk away, which was fine for us, but the walk up is a bit steeper, so we’d suggest bringing a car or taking an Uber back if you want to head down – or you can spend the time enjoying the village in the mountains and the views! Some reviews say the apartment is hard to get to or that parking is difficult, but that wasn’t the case – there are parking spots nearby that the hosts helped us with and went above and beyond, and the accommodation is easy to find. Rather, while this place never claims to be a 5* hotel, what you get is an authentic experience in a mountain village with hosts that could not be lovelier to make the stay perfect, and the service for us exceeded that of a 5* hotel! Could not recommend more – THANK YOU Andrea and Valeria!
