This hotel was in a fantastic location - it was so safe to walk around, and there were loads of shops and restaurants nearby.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wide range of options to suit every taste.

We had a wonderful stay at Gooseberry Guesthouse. Anna greeted us very nicely. We missed nothing; everything was top.

I liked the location. We weren't welcomed as warmly as we expected. The room was disappointing because there was no bathroom door, which left us feeling exposed. We also asked for breakfast, but when we went downstairs the next morning we were told we had to arrange it beforehand. I had emailed the property at the time of booking in January and mentioned that my daughter and I would be having breakfast. The rules listed also state that breakfast costs R160, but it didn’t say you had to request it the day before. My daughter and I were looking forward to breakfast, but that didn’t happen, so we packed up and left unsatisfied. They should have a proper host on site to attend to guests. I had high expectations for the property but was left disappointed.
