Everything was fine.

The staff welcomed me warmly, and the bed was comfortable; the hotel sits in a good spot. The bathroom, however, was cramped, dirty, and had a bad odor.

The location is perfect, close to the Mekong, great for strolling along the river and watching sunsets. The city is mostly walkable, with routes taking under 20 minutes between points. Grab isn’t available, but tuk‑tuks can be used if needed. The guesthouse also has an on‑site restaurant, though I didn’t try it. The bathroom, like many in Asia, lacks a shower tray, a basin, and a curtain, so the floor gets wet easily. I also found no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes or towels. Roadworks made it noisy at that time, and the soundproofing isn’t great.

The room was clean and spacious, and the value for money was excellent.
