Everything was great
“Nobler Charme mit viel Persönlichkeit”
I was really taken by the old, noble charm of River Island Hotel; even the lobby impressed with its spacious, elegant, almost feudal feel. Walking in, you instantly sense the building’s history. The rooms show their age, which I actually liked, especially because they’re packed with wardrobes, shelves and storage—a real bonus for a longer stay. The beds were very comfortable and the private bathtub was a plus. Housekeeping was reliable, keeping us comfortable throughout our time there. I must highlight the staff: everyone we met was consistently warm, attentive and helpful, never just professional but genuinely caring. If you only want sleek, modern rooms you might find some things a bit dated, but if you appreciate character, history and a touch of bygone elegance, River Island Hotel feels just right. Parking nearby was also hassle‑free. The only drawback was breakfast, which felt a bit bland and mainly offered the typical Irish fare; I would have liked more variety and fresher, lighter options. The scrambled eggs were sometimes too soft and a bit “wobbly.” Overall the breakfast was okay but didn’t quite match the otherwise very positive impression of the hotel.

The hotel has a lot of charm, sits in a great location, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was hearty and offered a good variety. I wish the bathroom had a shower instead of a bathtub.
“Convenient and cozy hotel with all you need.”
The River Island Hotel is really fab, very easy to get into. Parking is not provided, but there are plenty of parking spaces nearby, and a public parking lot is also very close, which I used. The hotel was nice, rooms reasonably spacious and beds comfortable. restaurant and bar provided all you needed if you did not want to go out. Staff were very friendly, smiling, and professional. Only one thing I can say I did not like, and this is not the hotel's fault, but it did spoil my stay a bit. The room faced a side with pubs. It was Saturday night, there was a music session, and it was very loud. I am a light sleeper, and it kept me awake until early in the morning. I forgot to bring earplugs, which would have solved the problem
It is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff
