De' Garden Hotel, Butterworth

Everything is fine, but I’m okay with just one access card per room. I was upset when the staff at the reception told me, “Cannot, sir, we do not have a spare card,” after I was separated from my room partner who had the card. Because of that silly issue, this will be the last stay for me and my team at this hotel.

“went to attend funeral so barely in room except to sleep”

Overall satisfactory: the room was clean and comfortable, though the air‑con made a bit of noise. I was disappointed that the price I paid was higher than the promotional rate printed by the hotel. There are no food shops within walking distance, so I had to drive out for meals.

“Pleasant and value for money”

Almost everything is great and offers good value. Breakfast is simple but effective, and the location right in the heart of Butterworth is strategic. The corridors could use some upgrading or renovation, though.
