Davinci Gorilla Lodge

DaVinci Gorilla Lodge provides nice accommodations with friendly staff in a superb spot for mountain gorilla trekking. Hot water bottles in the bed, charcoal for the fireplace, and a charcoal heater that they brought out to the outdoor terrace in front of our cabin made the cool nights more comfortable. After our trek, they cleaned our boots, and a relaxing foot massage was included in the price. However, we found the accommodation a bit overpriced, probably because of the attractive location. As mentioned in previous reviews, the hotel tried to charge us a higher price than what was listed in our reservation, so we recommend carefully checking your final bill.

“Thank you it was an enjoyable vacation”

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always serving us with a warm smile. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the evening turn-down service was a lovely touch. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and we felt like we were in a little slice of heaven. We would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to come back.

“Horrendous experience”

We had a nightmare experience at this lodge. After a long journey, we were kept waiting for ages, only to be asked for payment at an inflated rate. When I questioned it, they finally sorted it out, but then told us they didn't have any rooms available. To make matters worse, the staff were rude and the manager was nowhere to be found. We were advised to find alternative accommodation, which we did.

“Please don’t waste your money here”

We checked in around 4:30 pm, expecting a smooth process, but it was a disaster. The receptionist took our passports, then disappeared for 30 minutes, leaving us sitting on the couch. When she finally returned, she said she had to explain the property, but we just wanted our keys. The room was a letdown - outdated, with a nasty bathroom and rock-hard beds. The food was gross, and they even charged us for water at breakfast. The cherry on top was a dead spider in our bathroom for two days.

“Excellent and can highly recommend the Lodge”

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge, thanks to its amazing location and gardens, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. The chef was a wizard in the kitchen, and the meals were expertly prepared. We loved the little touches, like preparing snacks for our gorilla trekking adventure and cleaning our muddy boots. Our room was huge and cozy, with warm water bottles and a lit fire in the evenings. We felt like we were in a little paradise.
