Captain Pip's Marina & Hideaway

The location is excellent, the room is very clean and spacious, and it provides all the comfort needed for a longer stay. A light switch failed later in the evening—likely a broken switch—yet no assistance was available, and the message sent to the accommodation was unanswered; the issue was mentioned at check‑out but the staff seemed uninterested, resulting in an unfriendly experience.

“Great place to stay! We loved it!”

There’s plenty to do, multiple fishing spots, and the attached bar/restaurant with live music is fantastic; the Aqualodge is clean, feels spacious, has excellent A/C, and the view from the back porch is stunning.

“Nice if you have considerate neighbors”

The property itself is very nice, which is why we returned for a second stay. We requested an apartment but it was already reserved, so we stayed in a regular room; the neighbors’ noise through the shared wall was bothersome. The small dining table had bar stools the same height, preventing us from sitting at the table; a request for shorter chairs was denied, leaving the bed as the only seating option.

“We were so happy that weekend.”

Everything was perfect, except parking was difficult.

“Overall, Captain Pip’s offered a clean, practical stay in a fantastic location for snorkeling and exploring the Keys.”

The room was spotless, the sink was large enough to rinse all our snorkel gear, and the water pressure was excellent with instant hot water. The best part was the location—exactly where we booked our snorkeling tour, making everything super convenient. The walls were thin, so early‑morning traffic noise was audible; there were no blackout curtains, making it hard to keep the room dark. The shower controls were a bit tricky to set the temperature, and the staff member at check‑in didn’t review amenities or explain where things were located, so we had to figure most details ourselves.
