Yamagisi Ryokan, located 1 minute from Lake Kawaguchi, offers 24-hour indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, karaoke, and massages. The ryokan provides free shuttle to/from Kawaguchiko Station and WiFi throughout. Guests enjoy lake views from public baths, a souvenir shop, and Japanese-style rooms with tatami floors, futon bedding, and yukata robes, near a supermarket and Mount Fuji's 5th entrance.

How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The experience itself, sleeping on tatami and futon. The room was spacious with lake views. The staff were unhelpful. The transport service to the station operates at a fixed time, so it’s limited and not useful. The outdoor onsen was slippery, hold on tight or you might die. Breakfast was very Japanese; the experience was fine but I had to go buy a coffee… It’s expensive for what it offers, there are extra fees, 150 yen per person.

Everything was a bit over the top, but the basic necessities that should be provided for free every day were missing.

The onsen and room were very traditional, and the location by the lake was perfect, but the local breakfast was hard for Europeans to get used to.
