The location is excellent, the room was comfortable with great views, breakfast was great, and the bar feels quirky and homely; we didn’t find anything to dislike.

The food, staff, and beer are great and the location is good, but parking is a hassle: you have to get up at 7.30 am each morning to walk to the council car park and pay; the room is very basic with a cracked sink and no hair dryer.

The building is the most eye‑catching at the end of High Street, blending a pub, antique shop, and hotel rooms; our Kings Room on the first floor had a large bay window with interesting views of the working village, two sofas, a coffee table, and a very comfortable bed, making it ideal for a relaxed couple; breakfast was good and the staff were friendly, but the walls feel dated and need a touch of TLC, the kettle is very old for a £150‑a‑night B&B, the en‑suite smells a bit stale likely from poor ventilation, and parking is a major headache—limited spots are for staff and disabled, so guests must use the station car park and pay, which is inconvenient, especially in the rain with luggage; for a hotel at this price, guests might worry about leaving their cars in a public lot a few hundred yards away.

The bed was comfy and the spot was great, but the breakfast crew seemed a bit disorganised.

The room was clean and comfortable, yet the pub felt a bit tired; otherwise the accommodation and breakfast were excellent.
