Staying in a privately‑owned apartment inside a respectable hotel gave us all the perks of a hotel at a slightly lower price, with a spacious flat that includes two bathrooms, a shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room and a balcony, plus a restaurant, spa and gym downstairs. The owner, however, was overly possessive about the unit, repeatedly reminding us that it was “her” place bought by her father, and she kept questioning whether we were a fifth guest when we had only booked for four, which made me worry she might cancel the reservation; despite that, she was lovely during the stay, even arranging a late checkout for us.
