The paradise Retreats

When we messaged her, she gave me her phone number and asked me to text her when we were about a half hour away, then she told us to have a safe drive—what a sweet gesture! When we arrived the place was beautiful, she showed us everything and encouraged us to have the best time. She went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I can’t think of anything negative.

“Do not ever go here... Disgusting Nasty Ripping people off...”

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY OR LOVED ONES HERE. The place was so disgusting; the smell of urine, no door knobs on rooms or bathrooms, blood on the trash can lids, and the host could literally lock you inside with only key locks. The host was rude, loud, inappropriate, and made sexist comments about sexual orientation. The room was so small it felt like a closet. We were told what time we could leave and when to come back to wake up or sleep. The gate was closed and locked behind us. The bed had dirty sheets, and the host asked us to remove shoes in unclean areas so she wouldn’t have to clean. The hot tub sat in front of the host’s living room window, offering no privacy or even permission to use it. This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. We were there for 45 minutes and left, even though we had a 2‑day reservation. They refused to refund due to a cleaning fee when the room was clearly not clean. The smell alone should have them closed. The lady knows she is ripping people off and doesn’t care. Hoping booking will resolve the issue next week.

“We did not stay because it is so bad. This can’t be a legal business and it should be investigated.”

We arrived to find a closed fence with no signage. We had to shout to get the owner’s son, Marshall, to notice us. He asked for my name and said he wasn’t tracking our arrival. He gave us a tour that started with pointing out where my motorcycle buddy and I would stay – a Tuff Shed/Lowes/Home Depot shed with a queen bed and a loft. I told my buddy he could use the queen bed while I’d stay in the loft, but Marshall said I could only sleep in the loft because the ad claimed it was for kids, implying it wasn’t built to code and couldn’t hold an adult. The tour also showed us a common toilet attached to the main house and that guests were supposed to use a separate outdoor shower away from the toilet and room/shed. My buddy and I left to find a hotel in Santa Cruz. This “establishment” should be removed from all hotel rental/reservation sites, and the mother and son should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau because it surely isn’t legal.
