Even though this guesthouse sits in central Recife, arriving after dark feels unsafe because the commercial area is deserted; the rooms were badly built with fixed‑only glass shower enclosures, a broken hot‑water tap, a clogged drain that left water pooling in the shower, no glass shelves in the bathrooms and a persistent mold odor, and the whole building was sealed off from any natural light. Reception had no one on duty, so we did a self‑check‑in and were instructed on how to retrieve the key from a safe. While we waited for our two rooms, a staff member shouted at us through the camera, demanding why we were still in the lobby instead of heading to the rooms. I cannot recommend this place given all these shortcomings.

The staff were very friendly, but everything else left a lot to be desired. We arrived in room 10 of the hostel and found more beds than advertised, with only one shower for the whole room. When we asked about the lockers that were listed, we were told there were none and that we would have to pay R$30.00 per day to use them. On top of that, the place was dirty and looked like it was under construction, with no kitchen supplies—just a fridge that barely cooled, despite the listing showing a microwave. We were given bath towels at check‑in, but the next day the staff were told to collect all towels from guests without any notice. The situation was chaotic; someone even took a bed that belonged to a fellow traveler. The final straw was that on Saturday, a day after check‑in, there was no water all day, so we could’t use the bathroom and had to brush our teeth with bottled water. The only shower in our room broke, forcing us to bathe with a bucket or share the neighboring room’s shower, which was already crowded. Contact with the owner was terrible for us and other guests; he showed no interest in fixing anything. We left two days early because staying any longer was impossible. I would not recommend this place at all.

The staff were friendly, but they tried to charge for storing backpacks.

The bed felt fairly new, but the overall facilities left a lot to be desired.
