The building and rooms are beautiful, and the breakfast is great. The only downside was having to pay 20 euros per night for a dog.

The upgraded room with a balcony was nice, the dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and the buffet breakfast was good. The views were great. The route to the hotel through town was a bit tortuous.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were roomy and cozy with a solid shower. Breakfast was abundant and tasty, and there was plenty of secure parking. We walked down the hill into town and found a limited selection of restaurants, but we still had a great weekend exploring the area, especially the old monastery which houses a zoo that kept us busy for hours. The indoor pool was available, but you have to pay and book a session. We didn’t dine in the hotel restaurant because it had a set menu, was fully booked before we arrived, so we ate out instead.

Situated in historic Besançon, the hotel sits in a beautiful building and park, probably the most stunning in the city.

The hotel’s location, private parking, and on‑site restaurant made a short overnight stop perfect, and we were able to see a lot of Besançon in just three hours. I thought it was a bit pricey; we only booked a Classic room (good bed, nice bathroom) but it had no view and was near the elevator, which was noisy, yet it still felt expensive. The restaurant didn’t live up to my expectations.
