The location is good, the beach is clean, and the food is excellent. The only issue is that the room planters had no plants and the wooden tables need renewal.

The facilities have a rustic, slightly hippie vibe and the staff are generally friendly, with a quick and easy check‑in/out and beautiful views; still, the lack of enough staff means service is slow, which matters because nothing is included in the rate and everything you consume must be paid for, so guests expect prompt, efficient attention when they’re paying extra. The food we tried was tasty but the menu was narrow and the hours were very restrictive—my wife’s request for a mamey smoothie was denied because it’s supposedly only a breakfast item, even though I saw frozen drinks being served to others, which hurts both the experience and potential revenue. We ordered cheap beer at $100 MXN each when they could have earned 400 MXN per couple of smoothies. At night there’s no room service; when I needed water, the phone went unanswered, and the reception only had two tiny bottles, which is unacceptable if there’s no night service. The hotel is nice overall, despite some maintenance work, but if you’re looking for a hassle‑free, fully serviced stay, it falls short, especially because a 24‑hour room‑service option would completely change the experience.

The décor and surroundings had a certain charm, but the pool and gardens were clearly lacking upkeep.

We stayed in a modern, renovated room with a second door that helped keep traffic noise down; the staff were friendly, but that was about it. I had read plenty of reviews beforehand and thought, “It won’t be that bad.” I can only agree with the guests who came before me: the resort has potential but feels more like a forgotten spot than a destination. It’s aging and looks very neglected, with hardly any other guests around. The restaurant’s prices for Mexican food are high. Our room was new and modern, yet there were no seats or balcony furniture. The property sits on a heavily trafficked street, yet traffic noise is minimal because a large hotel complex is being built across the street, so you mainly hear construction noise and even feel the jackhammer in the room. The whole area smells like rotten eggs from the mangroves and algae. The beach is completely overgrown and unusable (you have to make it there first, and the stench makes you nauseated on the way). Some boardwalks through the mangroves are also closed because they’re unsafe.

I liked staying at a place that had a bit of personality and offered a real experience. The property had many unique touches, and the rooms were clean, the bathrooms were spacious, and the pool was easily accessible. In summer the mangroves can be a little smelly, but you get used to it quickly.
