A gorgeous old hotel that transports you back to a time when living in Germany was still fun—absolutely wonderful! The staff were friendly and the breakfast tasty, and there’s nothing to complain about. Just don’t renovate it in a way that ruins its charm.

The location was great and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety. I had to wait a long time because the staff couldn’t find my registration. On the second day I couldn’t access my room with the key card. By 6 p.m. no one was at the front desk, so I had to wait another 30 minutes for a room key. The old lift in this building working at all was a stroke of luck.

The hotel is very well situated and central, everything is within easy walking distance. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always courteous. The carpet in the room didn’t look very appealing, and there was only one pillow per person, which was clearly insufficient—extra pillows would have been welcome.

The location, breakfast, and staff were all good. The carpet and odor in the room were off-putting. Dogs and smokers should not be allowed in all rooms, and guests should be asked about smoking when booking.
