Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Near Lackland AFB

“Do better.”

This place burned 2/22, 9 days after I booked it. I arrived onsite 3/31 for my sons basic training graduation to check in and discover the place burned and condemned. There was a man out front in a small suv that tells me when I arrive that I can cancel and get a refund, that is nice and all but a call leading up to that day or email would have been nice so I was not having to race around like a crazy guy looking for a hotel with availability. Just ridiculous business, had left a bad taste in my mouth with Econo Lodge, do not see myself staying with them again in the future

I only spent the first night, yet the hotel billed me for a second night after we were forced to leave because of a fire.

I'm still trying to figure out how a hotel can get so much right and yet be so wrong at the same time. The room was in a fantastic spot – right by the elevator, so I could pop up and down easily – and the staff were super friendly and helpful, always willing to lend a hand or answer a question. But, honestly, that's where the positives end.

“Comfy and convenient”

The location of this hotel is seriously convenient - it's literally right down the street from Lackland Air Force Base, which was a huge plus for me. However, the ice machine in the lobby was out of order, which was a bit of a bummer. But the staff really made up for it by offering to get me ice from their own room, which was a nice touch. Overall, the friendly staff and great location made up for the minor inconvenience.

“Would stay again”

The hotel's location was a major draw for me, right in the heart of the city with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were also super friendly and helpful, always willing to lend a hand or offer some advice on what to do in the area. However, the rooms were a bit on the small side, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, the cleanliness and comfort made up for it, and I appreciated the little touches like the free breakfast and the 24-hour gym.
