The Kilronan was wonderful; walking to the city centre took only 15‑20 minutes, the staff were outstanding—attentive and kind—and breakfast was really good. We didn’t realize there was no elevator; we were on the top floor and had to climb many steps, but the staff helped with our luggage and stored our golf clubs on the main floor, so everything worked out fine.

The place was decent and in a good spot, but the staff were just okay, nothing special. I booked a single room and it was absurdly small; the built‑in single bed ate up almost the entire space. The en‑suite bathroom was cramped, and I don’t remember a door separating the two rooms – the bathroom window opened onto both. It did let me sleep somewhere for the night, but that’s about it.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had character, plus the breakfast was terrific. No complaints, though the stairs could be tough for some people. We enjoyed the king bed, but it occupied most of the room.
