The room smelled like socks, half the tiles were missing in room 202, leaving a bare wall. The staff were polite on the first day, but on the second day they treated me terribly. They told me they wouldn’t accept dollars and wouldn’t let me leave the hotel until I paid. I said I had a bunch of things in the storage room, so I exchanged money and paid. I dropped my clothes in dry‑cleaning and they returned my expensive clothes stained. In the evening I had a reception in Tashkent and then flew out. Naturally I took a shirt with me, and they said they couldn’t give me a hanger or sell it. Karl hung the hanger. Throughout all this the hotel manager, Bonu, behaved very rude, though she looked like a sweet girl in a scarf. Thank God we left the hotel. Half an hour after posting a negative review on Booking, the director called and said there was a police matter and that I had broken hotel rules, that I wouldn’t be allowed to leave the country, etc. It was the lowest point ever. I complained to the girl and the hotel but didn’t curse or attack anyone. After a half‑hour call, the director, Umid, supposedly understood what happened and where the mistake was. I angrily asked to delete the review. In the evening I sent a text with apologies and a request to remove it. I love Tashkent, but avoid this place.
