“Great hostel. Clean and comfortable, great kitchen and lots of hot water.”
The hostel was clean and comfortable; honestly, nothing stood out as negative.

Everything matched the description.

Location ideal for exploring Portland. The sheets and duvets were old, there was no individual light for each bed, and parking incurred a fine.

A historic old building that feels lovely, but no staff were around; we unlocked with a code and found the room without trouble. The room is very quiet, private, and at the front gives a view into part of Portland Harbour, plus fresh air. The ensuite is clean and basic but good. I managed to park for free on the street, just without much difficulty. In the morning I made tea in the shared kitchenette, but saw no one else; everything was clean and the basics were in order. I couldn't find spoons, so I ate rice krispies with a teaspoon—fun! It suited us perfectly. Both of us have strict dietary needs, so being able to bring our own food and not have to explain or negotiate a provided breakfast was great. Good value for the money. Thank you. Next time I come to Dorset for any reason I would definitely stay there again. Having lived on Portland before, I knew what to expect in Castletown. It’s interesting and historic, but a port area rather than a beauty spot—plenty of absolutely stunning beauty spots and things of interest very close by though! I can't think of anything negative.

It was a good value for money. We were two cyclists and needed a couple of beds, so it was very good for us. Nothing negative.
