Located 3 km from Brussels Airport and 15 minutes from the city centre, Van der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport, Diegem, features a garden terrace, Mediterranean restaurant, bar & lounge, fitness centre, and free WiFi. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was fantastic, the breakfast had a great selection and pure orange juice (no Chepo version), and the staff were lovely, but the price was high and it was close to the airport. We had no choice but to stay here after our flight to Ireland was cancelled. We booked the executive room, so we expected top‑level service and a superb room, but that didn’t happen. First, the room was only half cleaned; the rubbish bin hadn’t been emptied or replaced, and there were no tea bags, milk, or other essentials—nothing was fixed until the next afternoon, after we had already stayed two more days. The hotel was fully booked because of UK airport disruptions, which shouldn’t excuse the poor service after paying a lot for this room. I was annoyed that we couldn’t open a window for fresh air and that there were no English tea bags—only earl‑grey rubbish. We had to buy our own tea bags, milk, and drinks. We stayed in a lovely little hotel called The Arme Spa Hotel in Grimage, which was fantastic, only two stars but with great ratings and close to where we needed to go for Diamond League athletics. We were used to comfort and 10‑star service, and the staff were fantastic—definitely worth staying at again. But this so‑called 4‑star hotel I would never stay at again or recommend to anyone. At least my friend said we had a bed to sleep in, not on the airport floor. 🤣😂

Everything was superb—the establishment is gorgeous, the breakfast was excellent, we were upgraded to a fantastic, very comfortable room, the staff were very friendly, everything was perfect and we’ll definitely return.
