“Bad vau hotel”

The location was close to the center and the neighborhood was good, but the place was dirty: a half‑empty water bottle from previous guests, two roaches killed, dirty walls in the washroom, the food area photos were fake, they showed a restaurant outside the hotel, breakfast was served in an ugly dirty basement with poor food selection, dirty forks and knives, and on the second day we arrived on time for breakfast but the staff said it wasn’t ready yet. There is a safe but it’s unattached, it wasn’t cleaned on the second day, water wasn’t refilled, there was no light in the washroom and a noisy vent, the electric security fixtures were a mess, and they charge $105 per night when it should be no more than $50.

Good location. My experience with the Orion Elite Hotel, Delhi was disgusting. I had booked a Standard double room for 2 persons from 21st to 25th Sept. 2026. On check-in, I was informed by the receptionist that I had to pay Rs. 1000/- extra for a "room with window" since it was another category with a higher tariff. I was absolutely unhappy with the receptionist's attitude and behavior. I refused, since I had a confirmed booking made , where there was no category called "room with window". He suggested that I cancel my booking online and try booking again with other portals like Make-my-trip. I refused. Finally, after much haggling, he offered to upgrade my room to one with a balcony for an extra Rs. 1000/-. I agreed, since I had no choice, at the last minute, as I had come to Delhi for a medical purpose. The final insult came when I was checking out on the 25th. The same receptionist was on duty and calmly said that my room-upgrade would be Rs.1500/-, as against Rs. 1000/- which we had agreed upon at check-in. I tried to argue but he was adamant. It was very clear that he was lying. I paid since I had a flight to catch. I also have complaints against the service and amenities at your hotel -there was absolutely no cleaning of the rooms during the 4 days I stayed there, the trash was not collected nor the sheets or towels changed (seems I needed to request for these, if needed), the lift did not work for over a day etc). Lack of service or amenities is part of the game but cheating or swindling a client is beyond disgusting. The issue here is not about Rs. 500/- that I overpaid. It is about principle and dignity. I have been a client of since over 4 decades, travelled to over 6 continents, 35 countries including the Arctic and Antarctica but I have not faced this type of unpleasant situation or blatantly swindled by a hotel, ever

The service was excellent, the location superb, and it’s especially welcoming for Europeans, thanks in large part to Anand Jha FOM and his team.

The rooms were clean and tidy, but the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming; the cleaners were drunk and the receptionists were rude and dismissive.

“Terrible - would not recommend to any foreign travellers.”

The only redeeming factor was the southern Delhi location, but the breakfast spread was very poor—no variety and everything cold and unappetising from the start. The rooms were dirty, the shower leaked, a socket was above my head posing a health risk, and there was no hot water in the evenings.
