“Room(s) did not match the listing, host never refunded the promised amount”
We spent one night with our family in mid‑August and were impressed by the first impression: a very nice building and decor. Self‑check‑in worked smoothly and the mosquito net was a nice touch. If the listing had been accurate and the promised compensation paid, this would have been a much better experience. The listing promised a family room with air‑conditioning, but we were given two separate rooms, one with air‑conditioning and one without, and a shared hallway bathroom. This was not clear at booking, and the host admitted the listing was incorrect. The room without air‑conditioning was hot and stuffy, the bed was about 2 m above the floor, and the towels were very small, falling short of expectations for the price. The host agreed to a €50 compensation for the misleading description and promised to transfer it by the end of August, but two months later, after several polite reminders, we still haven’t received it.
