“The loveliest place in Sintra! Friendly, zen, welcoming and everything you need in one place.”
I loved everything—staff were super helpful, the place had all the essentials even off‑season. Neisha (I can’t recall the exact spelling) checked me in, explained the yoga schedule, guided me to my room, and made me feel very welcome. She also gave great tips on what to see in Sintra town—Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate Palace are indeed beautiful! It’s a perfect base for hiking the coast like I did. I highly recommend it. From the hostel you can start at Praia Grande do Rodizio, hike up into the Parque Ecologico da Adraga and Praia Grande, then switch to a more rugged trail that eventually leads to the lighthouse with spectacular views. The coastal path closes beyond the lighthouse because of erosion, but that’s already a long hike. An Uber back home costs about 10‑15 euros. I stayed in a clean, spacious double room with character. There were hammocks in the trees and one night I heard a tawny owl outside! Food options on site are superb—Thai, amazing sushi, wood‑fired pizza, and there’s even a MUSA craft beer pub inside a water tower just 2 minutes away. Huge thanks to Pedro Morais, the yoga instructor—there’s a lovely studio on site with many classes you can book at reception. He made me feel welcome and remembered my name the second time I attended class. The locals were very friendly, making it a truly lovely place. Thank you all for a wonderful stay! The only downside was that I couldn’t swim because the waves were too high, but it was still great to walk to the beach and witness the sea’s power.
