The Superior Double Room provides one large double bed for two guests. A private bathroom includes a bathtub, a hairdryer and free toiletries. Carpeted floors, heating, a seating area with a flat‑screen satellite TV, a tea and coffee maker, and a wardrobe complete the room’s amenities.
The location was good, yet the decor felt very tired, the bathroom needed an update, and there was dampness in the ceiling.
“Very expensive for what’s on offer”
The property felt old and outdated.
The building’s history is amazing, the location is great, and the staff are friendly. However, there was no air‑conditioning when the outside temperature exceeded 35 °C, making it impossible to sleep at night due to the heat inside.
“Ridiculously over priced, salon to Fawlty Toeers! Should have chosen a Premier Inn for cleanliness and facilities!”
It was in a good location for our reason for staying. The room was not ready despite an evening arrival. The property was tired, carpet dirty, stale water in the room, no coffee pods (and when we asked we got 2 when there was 3 of us), mould in the bathroom, walls marked, air con didn’t work, walls were paper thin so you could hear all conversations in adjoining rooms, lights didn’t work, plastic strip fell out of the blind almost on my head, duvet didn’t fit the bed and the shower leaked! Glad we didn’t get breakfast as we overheard the adjoining room say it was the worst breakfast ever!
“Comfortable stay in a lovely hotel”
The restaurant was lovely, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent; the room was large, the bed comfortable, and it was very clean; the staff were friendly and helpful. The only minor gripe was that breakfast could use a second coffee machine.
