“Spend another $50 and go up the road to the Hampton Inn. This place is a nightmare.”

I managed to snag a room for just over $100, which was the only thing that made sense for me. The front desk lady was friendly and got us keys quickly, but the hallway and elevator looked pretty rundown, so I was hoping the room would be better. When we opened the door it was clear someone had stayed there: the TV was on, one bed wasn’t made, and the room smelled stale. We called the desk and were moved to a second room, but both were filthy, with trash in the hallway, dim lighting, and light switches that didn’t work. The pillows were awful, though the bed itself was fine. The ice machine on the first floor had been broken for over a year and a half, and both rooms had ripped curtains and dirty windows. The worst part was the bugs—at least a dozen different kinds in the bathroom, a small spider on the nightstand, and some muck in the corner that produced more insects. We left early, no shower, no breakfast, and just grabbed a Wawa across the street. If you’re looking for a cheap stay and don’t mind low standards, this might work; otherwise, head to the Hampton Inn down the street for about $50 more and a nicer experience.

The location is convenient to many places, and this time we got an updated room. Nothing negative.
