The hot spring water was really good. After soaking I’d like a cold shower. The entrance’s cat‑protected zone is a bit annoying; it’s fine for me as a cat lover, but people with allergies or who dislike cats might want a separate area. Some of the room’s equipment feels a bit old, but that’s understandable—everything new isn’t necessarily better. I hope they keep improving.

The bath was spacious, which I really liked, but I wished I could have tried the local mountain‑vegetable dishes that are prepared in the mountains.

There were three kinds of milky hot springs and I soaked in them five times before checking out; I spent the New Year with my two dogs, enjoyed soba on New Year’s Eve and a special osechi meal, and the open‑air bath offered a view of the river, snow‑covered mountains, and falling snow, making the milky bath feel like pure bliss.

The hot spring was authentic and great, but the building itself is old.
