“Not what I expected for the price”
Breakfast was good, but the rooms lacked an elevator, had a small TV, and no streaming service.

The room was clean with updated amenities and the front‑desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I chose this hotel because it offered an EV charger, as we were traveling across the country in our EV. On the night of arrival, I plugged the car into one of two empty ports at 2052; charging finished at 0253, and I unplugged the car when leaving the hotel at 0800, leaving the other port unused. Later that morning I received a $180 bill: $29.31 for electricity (+ tax) and $130 for “idle time” (including tax). This feels like a scam. I called ChargeLab, the station owner, who said the rates are set by the hotel, and then called the hotel manager, who said the rates are set by ChargeLab. Neither provided an explanation. I conclude this is a scheme to defraud EV travelers. My advice: avoid this charging station and don’t expect the hotel to protect your interests.

The staff were friendly and helpful, yet the Sudbury downtown core has significant issues with unhoused people and those in mental health or addiction crises, and this was visible around the hotel.

The lobby TV was noisy and hard to control, making it tough to relax. Breakfast arrived too late; we missed the included meal because we had to leave by 6:45 am. We had to cross town to get onto the highway, and the charging station was very expensive.

The breakfast that comes with the stay is solid—simple options like sausage or bacon, juice, and yogurt, though the waffle machine is broken while the toaster still works. Parking could use some work: the entrance appears to be one‑way, forcing you to drive around a few blocks, and leaving the lot requires navigating through a shelter. Inside the hotel feels secure, and the front door locks after 10 pm.
