I loved my big room and the beautiful courtyard with a pool - it was a great place to relax.

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel because it's close to the Anuradhapura temple complexes, and the lobby and restaurant did look fancy and nice. The garden was pretty with lots of exotic birds and squirrels, and the pool was clean. But, our deluxe rooms were a letdown - they were minimal, with a broken toilet lid and shower curtain, no room service, and we even found a cockroach in bed.

I stayed here for a city tour, and while the room was big and the location was convenient, that was about it. The air conditioning didn't work well, and hardly anyone spoke English except for the receptionist. I paid $120, which was way too much considering I've stayed in better hotels for half the price. The free wifi was a no-go, and the food was just okay, with some weirdly burnt offerings. Oh, and the garden lights shone directly into my room till 11:15 pm.
