The staff at this hotel were extremely kind and attentive, making my stay a truly enjoyable one.
The breakfast was also a highlight of my stay, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from.
The rooms were spotlessly clean.
The location was also a major plus, with the ferry to Wangeroge being just a short distance away.

“Das Leben ist wie eine Eisenbahn”
From the free parking, the cheerful, lively reception, to the tidy single room on the second floor with a welcome tea mix, water, and hand towels folded like sailboats that instantly made you feel double welcomed, to the breakfast that sets a high bar for many hotel chains, there’s nothing to complain about. At check‑in, a friendly “Moin” was followed by the staff holding the door for me because they were waiting, then a brief chat and a tour of the hotel and Harlesiel, which I found very hospitable and accommodating. The breakfast was a highlight: small but varied with bread, pastries, sweets, smoked fish, a great selection of sausages and cheeses, seasonal fruit, all presented attractively, a pot of coffee served at the table, and on request a freshly cooked scrambled egg (optionally with bacon) brought steaming to the table by a very friendly staff member who kept an eye on everything. The self‑serve beverage cooler, the nice lounge with games, and the terrace with seating options and free‑to‑sit cushions added to the experience. I personally found the location very appealing – quiet, close to the beach, the memorial, and Carolinensiel or Edeka were within walking distance (with the right feet). In short, I only stayed one night but felt very comfortable. The only tiny drawback: the room door can be opened from the outside if you don’t lock it from inside, which is a very high‑level complaint, but knowing that, you just lock it.
The location is great and the staff are attentive and friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with eggs cooked to order based on my preference. Parking is right outside the building. The front desk is only staffed a few hours a day, so if you arrive too early you’ll have to wait. The bed frame creaks a little.
Breakfast was good and the selection was large. The bathroom is very small and the pillows are unusable.
“Für unsere Zwecke (Zwischenstation auf der Reise nach Wangerooge) war es die perfekte Unterkunft.”
The hotel is perfectly located for those taking the ferry to Wangerooge, the breakfast is excellent, and the vibe is friendly and relaxed; our room was spacious, well equipped, and very clean.
