“Troppo spoglia”
The location was fantastic, right in the beating heart of the city, so we only used transport to get to the airport. Another positive was the sink with a mirror in the room; since the bathroom was shared, I could wash my face and brush my teeth without worrying someone else was waiting for the bathroom. The Wi‑Fi was very strong. Almost everything else was bad. Customer‑host communication was zero; check‑in was self‑service but they never told me how to open the key box, only gave me a code, and after endless calls to the owner with no reply, Gemini finally helped unlock the box. The owner only reached out at the end of the stay to demand an extra €50 via bank transfer, claiming it was for the tourist tax (he says he specified it somewhere, but I never saw it). The room was very minimal and missing basics; a decent fan would have made it at least an 8. It was a nightmare for the four nights because we had to open the window that faced the inner terrace – when we left the room it was a sauna, so privacy was zero and it faced the front room. There was no mosquito net, so any insect could get in, and the windows were super old. The fridge was unusable except as a nightstand; we needed two small nightstands and lights. The worst was the shared bathroom – I almost had to pee and shower in the sink because the toilet and shower were so dirty that the people who shared it with us didn’t even bother removing hair and excrement. I know that’s the cleaner’s job, but it still needs cooperation. Finally, the shower window faced a creepy courtyard; fortunately there was a mosquito net but it was full of holes and mold.
