The cottage sits right in the village center at Náves, č.p. 1, and a nearby tavern offers a good dinner; inside and outside the walls display scenes from Ladova’s paintings of the village. Across from the cottage is the small church seen in Ladova’s pictures, and throughout Hrusic there are informational boards with data and pictures of the notable local figure Josef Lady. I found it a bit untidy that the bathroom door couldn’t be locked or at least latched from the inside; perhaps the room key fit, but I chose not to try so as not to break it.

The host was very kind and pleasant, and the lodging was in a beautiful estate with stone stoves in a stylish kitchen that still had modern equipment. I felt like I was at my grandmother’s on vacation, and we slept very well because the house had great energy. A nearby tavern bakes excellent pies on weekends. The only thing that chilled us was that we couldn’t grill sausages outside because of the dryness, but that’s not the accommodation’s fault.

A nice spot right in the village centre with free parking, comfy beds and a well‑equipped kitchen that also serves as a communal TV room for three units, plus contact‑less key pickup via a lockbox. The building was chilly inside and couldn’t be warmed up, so it seems suited only for the warmer months, and reaching the upper room required climbing a short but fairly steep staircase, which isn’t ideal for anyone with limited mobility.
