All good

The room and décor were tidy, clean and kept their original charm, but the bathroom was dated and the shower holder was broken, though still usable.

A quirky old pub with plenty of free parking and a late check‑out; the breakfast was good even though it wasn’t included in the room rate, but the room needed a touch of redecorating—ceiling stains, water damage in the bath, limescale on the cold tap, discolouration in the shower, no shelf or hooks, no towel rail, dusty cills and curtains, and we weren’t warned about loud music from the pub below that kept going until 1 am while we tried to sleep.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and they did a great job catering to a solo traveller.

The Eve meal was lovely, the rooms offered good value for money, though a fresh coat of paint would be welcome.
