Because the train arrived early, we were at the retreat early. Since the previous guests had checked out early, they did their best to get the room ready quickly, and we could be in by 09:00.

Definitely the best place to relax, even though it’s 15 minutes from the city by car. They also provide motorcycles and bikes. The breakfast was poor for a 3‑star hotel; if they fix that, I believe their ratings will rise.

The location is great, just 10 minutes by car from the known spots, the pool is simply magnificent, and the staff are very attentive. The bed can be a bit hard; adding a mattress topper would help.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cháy Mountain Retreat in Ninh Binh. The location is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by the mountains and countryside, but what really made our stay special was the staff. They genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Even with the unpredictable weather, they were always looking out for us and offering ponchos and umbrellas whenever we were heading out. It was those little things that really made us feel welcomed and looked after. Another huge bonus was having bicycles included with the stay. Being able to simply jump on a bike and ride around the beautiful Ninh Binh countryside made the experience so much better and meant we could explore the area at our own pace. The whole atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming and peaceful, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We felt genuinely looked after from the moment we arrived until we left. If you’re staying in Ninh Binh and want somewhere peaceful with incredibly kind staff and a great base for exploring the area, we would absolutely recommend Cháy Mountain Retreat. We’d happily stay here again. Nothing, it was fantastic
