Clean bedding, close to the Scottish caves, decent breakfast. We were there only to be near the cave, and that need was met. Nearby is a Lipica horse breeding farm—interesting place. The lodging itself had no other perks. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. Old, crumbling equipment. No frosted windows, we had to hang a towel so it wouldn’t be an attraction to the surroundings while showering.

The hotel is in a village, the rooms are quite spacious, and there are plenty of free parking spots. The included breakfast was great, featuring cold cuts, cheese bread, sweets, coffee, and juices. The beds were comfortable. On the downside, the bathroom ceiling was moldy, the door had holes, and while there was a kettle in the room, there were no cups. The hotel should not skip out on maintenance.

The hotel sits close to the Škocjan Caves, which is handy if you want to head there early. The staff were professional and polite, and the courtyard offers a large, well-lit parking area. Breakfast was decent—nothing remarkable, but I couldn’t really complain. The triple room, however, was a total disaster: black mold on the bathroom ceiling, a door that looks like it was kicked hard and is broken, mattresses that are too soft, and furniture that’s really worn out. The room smelled of cigarettes and isn’t soundproofed; you can hear other guests chatting on the terrace. Big disappointment.
