I thought the place was okay, but I messed up because I don't like shared bathrooms; the shared bathroom and the sheets felt old and worn.

We had to handle things ourselves; the bed was a bit disappointing—a single mattress for a double bed isn’t ideal. I couldn’t manage the TV, the remote was hard to use, but the room price was good and I was satisfied overall.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a well-equipped tiny kitchen. Its location was perfect, just a short walk to the centre, and the very reasonable car park was very close by. Nothing else stood out; the host greeted you, gave a quick tour, and then left you to yourself.

The location was central in Alkmaar, but the bathroom and kitchen were shared, which wasn’t mentioned on the website—unacceptable.

The bed was comfortable and the curtains were very dark. I might not have read it correctly, but you should know that the toilet and bathroom are completely outside and shared with others, as is the kitchen. That wasn’t the worst part; the room might suit young people as a modern hippie style, but it’s absolutely unsuitable for an older generation. The room has a sink that could be used for washing, but it only provides cold water. If you want a warm wash, you have to go to the bathroom, which has no sink—just a bathtub you have to lean over. Also, the steep staircase to the room is a challenge. The TV only had streaming services; normal Dutch TV was not available. I find 85,- per night too expensive for this room.
