Che Lagarto Hostel Bar & Beach Club sits steps from Ilha Grande’s Bay and Rio de Janeiro’s shores, offering private and shared rooms, a communal lounge with TV, a bar, and a tour desk. Free WiFi and coexistence rules enhance community. The hostel is a 10‑minute walk to Ilha Grande’s center and 850 m from Vila do Abraão, blending beach access with local charm.

Room clean, and receptionist Carla is lovely! Bathroom and shower area are bad.

I chose to pay for breakfast outside the package and there were plenty of options. It’s served until 10:30, great for those who wake up later. I stayed in a double room with a nice view and the sea sound all the time. The room was cleaned every day. Air‑conditioning worked and the hot shower did too. It’s a great choice for those who want hostel vibes without sacrificing hotel privacy. I loved the deck and the cats that roam around. I recommend it to tourists and younger people. The only downside is that there’s music in the hostel bar and in the place next to it, so if you’re sensitive to noise and crowds it might not be the best option.

The deck’s location was great, but the noise was annoying.
