“Disappointed with El Golpe de Vista - a hard punch!”
The hotel sits in a prime spot just behind The Rosewood Hotel, and the roof‑terrace restaurant offers a lovely view of the Centro. The building features classic cantera marble details that are very pretty, along with several public artworks by Mexican artists. Parking was free. However, our room had no views (a true golpe de vista) from either window; we looked at a blank concrete wall/air space between us and the neighboring building. The linens and robes were worn out, and the bathroom lighting was inadequate and very dark. There were no washcloths in the bathrooms. The only breakfast option was room service continental, but there was no table to hold the tray, so we had to use the bed as a serving surface. The minibar was cluttered with items for sale that had expired dates, and the clutter made it hard to use the Nespresso machine. The maid didn’t clean the frothing/hot milk machine, and I felt uneasy about using the glasses and cups because they might not have been cleaned properly.
