The Casa do Carrapatelo turned out to be a wonderful surprise! The place was spotless, perfectly situated, and every detail was thoughtfully arranged to ensure a pleasant stay. What really stood out was the warm, genuine, and welcoming reception we received from D. Fátima. Her friendliness, attentiveness, and willingness to help made us feel truly welcomed and added an extra special touch to the experience. ❤️

We booked the one‑bedroom house, which was lovely and had everything we needed, and appreciated the privacy of staying separate from the main house. A fantastic view greeted us from the front door and garden. Inside the main bed‑and‑breakfast house, the interior was beautiful, with a huge living room and kitchen. We enjoyed sitting outside on the sunny patio for breakfast. The breakfast spread—bread, cheese, ham, fruit, cereals, jams, cakes, etc.—was delightful with plenty of options. The property grounds were stunning, and we loved cooling off in the lovely pool after long days exploring the area. The two girls working at breakfast were so friendly and lovely. The village itself had a few shops and restaurants but felt like a ghost town each time we walked through. We ate at Tasca do Zéquinha one day, which we loved, and would have returned if we had more time. We had a car but only used it for one of our three full days, preferring to walk (we walked miles!). The entire Douro valley area is filled with jaw‑dropping scenery—just amazing. We visited Quinta de S. Bernardo twice for lunch and included a wine tasting on one of those days. That experience was fantastic, and the location is stunning. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast and the whole area, and would stay here again if we were in the region. We flew to Porto, stayed there for three nights, then hired a car and took the very easy drive to the Douro valley for four nights. Amazing!

The property was gorgeous and the staff were incredibly friendly. Dona Fatima was extremely attentive and made the experience feel special. The room was roomy, the bed super comfy, and the area was quiet. The place itself was well maintained and stunning, offering great views, and it was close enough to walk to the center. Breakfast was tasty, and the kitchen had everything you’d need if you wanted to cook.
